Samantha Bee unleashed several insults about Trump—accusing him of being a sexual assaulter, bully, and coward for not appearing at the real White House Correspondent’s Dinner.

Comedic TV star Samantha Bee hosted “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” this past Saturday in response to the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner this year.

“I really believe that once a year the current president should face someone who calls them out on their shit,” Bee said at the revival of her “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” which taped Friday night and aired as a one-hour special Saturday on TBS in concurrence with the actual White House Correspondent’s Dinner this year.

Bee, who hosts TBS’ politically-charged “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” has done this before. The first version appeared in 2017, as a response to the annual White House event being downsized and President Donald Trump declining to attend.

This year, her motivation was due to the White House Correspondents’ Association’s decision to end its tradition of featuring a comedian skewering the president and the White House, presumably due to the uproar over comedian Michelle Wolf’s criticism of White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders at last year’s dinner.

Also on her agenda, Bee wanted to give credence to the importance of journalism, which is the intention for the annual White House event. At her special, journalists were thanked for “for taking time from your leaking and ‘deep-throating’ to be here tonight.”

Proceeds from “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” will also go to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

Expected humor and irreverence were employed throughout the special, with appearances from “Jersey Shore” star Snooki, “Hamilton” actor Brandon Victor Dixon, “Saturday Night Live” alum Taran Killam, and iconic Hollywood star Robert DeNiro.

Bee unleashed several insults about Trump—accusing him of being a sexual assaulter, bully, and coward for not appearing at the real White House Correspondent’s Dinner, presumably to avoid being the target of a comedian’s scrutiny.

Other highlights included an “in memoriam” segment for White House press briefings, which have all but disappeared under Sanders.

Continuing comedian Wolf’s controversial remarks on Sarah Huckabee Sanders last year, Bee slammed the press secretary with her own take.

“What the fuck does Sarah Huckabee Sanders do all day?!” Bee exclaimed, introducing “Sarah Hucka-bot Sanders,” a recurring character throughout the evening.

Perhaps most telling was a direct admonishment from Bee to Trump himself: “You’re the most powerful man in the world, and you can’t listen to someone razz you for 5 minutes?”, pointing out that “even f–king Justin Bieber” was subjected to a roast on Comedy Central several years ago.

Incidentally, Trump did appear on his own roast on Comedy Central in 2011, before his political ambitions for the presidency began. Then, he was merely a reality star for “The Apprentice,” and a real estate tycoon.
