UK News: “Trump’s Election Consultants Filmed Saying They Use Bribes & Sex Workers To Entrap Politicians”

Channel 4 News, a major U.K. news agency, just published an apparent damning undercover investigation of Cambridge Analytica, the data company that Trump hired for his 2017 election and has played an active role in elections worldwide.

The investigation recorded footage of Cambridge Analytica senior executives offering to bribe politicians and employ sex workers as part of a political campaign strategy.

The footage was obtained by an undercover reporter for Channel 4 News.

The reporter filmed a series of meetings held with senior executives at Cambridge Analytica over a span of four months in late 2017 and early 2018. The reporter was “posing as a fixer for a wealthy client hoping to get candidates elected in Sri Lanka”.

When the undercover reporter inquired about digging up material on his client’s opponents, Channel 4 News recorded Cambridge Analytica’s CEO Alexander Nix saying they could “send some girls around to the candidate’s house” adding that Ukrainian girls “are very beautiful, I find that works very well.”

In another exchange Nix said: “We’ll offer a large amount of money to the candidate, to finance his campaign in exchange for land for instance, we’ll have the whole thing recorded, we’ll blank out the face of our guy and we post it on the Internet.”

Channel 4 News also reported that Mr Nix told their reporter: “…we’re used to operating through different vehicles, in the shadows, and I look forward to building a very long-term and secretive relationship with you.”

In addition to Nix other Cambridge Analytica executives included in the meetings were Mark Turnbull, the managing director of CA Political Global, and the company’s chief data officer, Dr Alex Tayler.

A Cambridge Anlaytica spokesperson responded to the Channel 4 report with the statement:

“We entirely refute any allegation that Cambridge Analytica or any of its affiliates use entrapment, bribes, or so-called “honey-traps” for any purpose whatsoever… We routinely undertake conversations with prospective clients to try to tease out any unethical or illegal intentions…” and added, “Cambridge Analytica does not use untrue material for any purpose.”

Cambridge Analtyica made headlines recently for their involvement in the collection of over 50 million Facebook profiles.

Aside from the cynical attitudes being espoused, that Cambridge Analytica’s influence (read: direct undermining of democracy) is apparently widespread is disturbing.

Yes, what’s deeply disturbing is the amount of influence they’ve had in elections world wide. Not surprising, but disturbing.
