Hillary 2020? New Evidence Suggests Clinton Is Getting Set For Another Run

Is Hillary Clinton planning to run for president again in 2020? After a series of recent emails it is starting to look more likely that she could be.

In the past month Clinton has sent five emails to supporters asking for donations and singing the praises of her Super PAC, positioning it as the headquarters of The resistance to President Donald Trump, The New York Post reported.

On June 18, with the headline “horrific,” Clinton wrote to supporters about President Trump’s immigration policy that had kids separated from their parents at the Southern border when they attempted to enter the United States illegally.

“This is a moral and humanitarian crisis. Every one of us who has ever held a child in their arms, and every human being with a sense of compassion and decency should be outraged,” it said.

Three days after that email she sent another that said her PAC, Onward Together, had raised more than $1 million and donated to groups like the American Civil Liberties Union and various immigrant, refugee, Latino and women’s groups.

The day after Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement, Clinton sent another email announcing a new group called Demand Justice, designed to protect “reproductive rights, voting rights and access to health care” by pressuring Senate Democrats to stick with each other and fight any nominee President Trump picks.

The person at the head of the new group is Brian Fallon, who served as Clinton’s press secretary.

The Post’s Michael Goodwin said that “In truth, Fallon’s role doesn’t tell us something we didn’t know. Onward Together, formed in May of 2017, is a Clinton 2020 campaign vehicle in waiting.

“Its homepage says the group ‘is dedicated to advancing the vision that earned nearly 66 million votes in the last election,’” he said.

But is the Democrat Party “ready for Hillary” this time? Is the party looking for someone from the establishment, like Clinton, who has been defeated both times she ran for president by novices in the world of politics?

If Clinton does run, it won’t be a case of everyone getting out of her way as it was in 2015 and 2016, other than Sen. Bernie Sanders. The Democrats look to have a crowded field for the 2020 presidential election with favorites like Sen. Kamala Harris, Sen. Corey Booker, Sen. Sanders and former Vice President Joe Biden. More contenders are likely to emerge, and none are going to step aside because it is “her time.”

But, as Goodwin wrote in his story, a crowded field could help Clinton. With the candidates fighting each other she could be the only candidate strong enough to stay in it until the end when it would be simpler for her to vanquish one or two opponents.

And like President Trump, she has tons of cash that she could spend to make her third attempt at the presidency the one that succeeds. Never count her out of the game.
