Republican Representative’s Family Rallies In Support… Of His Opponent.

Sibling rivalries are common, and chances are everyone reading this, who is not an only child, has had one. Or, at the very least, had a disagreement or a heated argument with one of their brothers or sisters.

But the family of one Republican representative has taken the concept of sibling rivalry to the extreme.

The siblings of Arizona Republican Rep. Paul A. Gosar, six of them, made a television commercial to denounce their brother and extoll the virtues of his opponent, David Brill, the Democrat running to oust Gosar from his seat in Arizona’s 4th Congressional District.

We gotta stand up for our good name,” his brother, David, said in the commercial. “This is not who we are.”

“I think my brother has traded a lot of the values we had at our kitchen table,” his sister Joan added.

Gosar’s sister Grace said, “I couldn’t be quiet any longer, nor should any of us be.”

“There isn’t a kooky, crazy, nutty thing that he isn’t a part of,” David told The Washington Post. “What are we supposed to do?”

David said the split with Gosar and his family came about when Gosar would not acknowledge that former President Obama was born in the United States and that his birth certificate was real.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, you have to be kidding me,’ and then he went and got elected,” he told The Post. “I’m not going to break bread with a racist.”

“My siblings who chose to film ads against me are all liberal Democrats who hate President Trump. These disgruntled Hillary supporters (sic) are related by blood to me, but like leftists everywhere, they put political ideology before family. Stalin would be proud. #Az04 #MAGA2018,” Gosar tweeted after the advertisement was released.

The siblings who have sided against him have accused Gosar of being a racist. David said that his parents are both Republicans and support Rep. Gosar, as do their four other siblings, meaning the six do not speak for the entire family.

Brill remains a severe longshot to defeat Gosar in the heavily Republican district.

Conservative to me means conservation, preservation. However, what I see of conservatives in politics is a tendency to throw out the baby with the bath water. By maintaining the belief that healthcare for all is wrong they comply with government who want to use monies for tax cuts to the rich condemning people to the terribly expensive healthcare and pharmacy expenses that are too expensive.
