Christopher Dorner was a former naval officer and police officer who reportedly declared warfare on the LAPD. While working for the LAPD he filed a report alleging use of excessive force by his fellow police officer. Dorner claimed he was ultimately fired because of the report. An online manifesto was also allegedly posted by Dorner online. Dorner killed 4 and injured 3. He initially targeted family members of police officers associated with his excessive force case. The police also wounded three civilians during the manhunt for Dorner. Dorner ultimatley died in a cabin in the woods outside of Big Bear, CA. Some see him as a cop killer that got what he deserved and some view Dorner’s death as another manifestation of reckless and excessive police force.
