Trump Pulls Out of Iran Deal, Israel Bombs Iranian Convoy in Syria Citing ‘Irregular Activity’

As most expected, Donald Trump announced today that he was pulling the U.S. out of the Iran Deal today. Trump cited the “murderous” Iranian regime and touted America’s support of the “long-suffering people of Iran”. Trump also announced the U.S. would re-instate the highest level of Iranian sanctions.

Within two hours of the White House announcement chaos ensued in the middle east.

Syria state news agency SANA reported explosions in Kisweh, south of Damascus and that Syrian air defenses had shot down two Israeli missiles. Multiple news sources reported Israel struck an Iranian weapons convoy in Syria but no casualties were reported.

Reuters reported the Israeli military said that, upon identifying “irregular activity” by Iranian forces in Syria, it instructed civic authorities on the Golan Heights to ready bomb shelters, deployed new defenses and mobilized some reservist forces.

When asked about the reported bombing, Reuters reported that an Israeli military spokeswoman said: “We do not respond to such foreign reports.”

Reuters is also reporting that Israel asked a representative from the Human Rights Watch to leave the country, within 14 days and accused him of supporting a boycott of Israel.

In recent weeks various European leaders had expressed support of the Iranian Deal. Both German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron visited Trump to urge him to keep the U.S. in the Iran Deal.

Isreal’s Prime Minister Netanyahu just days ago staged a dramatic presentation proclaiming they had concrete proof Iran was in violation of the Iran deal and had an active nuclear weapons program. Various European leaders and the governing agency responsible for monitoring the Iran deal declared Netanyahu’s presentation did not prove anything and that Iran was in compliance with the Iran deal.
