Assad: No one invited US to Manbij, all foreign troops in Syria without permission are ‘invaders
President Assad has responded to the US sending troops to Syria as an invasion when speaking with a Chinese journalist last week. This is just after it was announced after president Trump pledged that he will be sending troops to Syria despite saying US troops needed to be withdrawn and to steer clear of conflicts such as these.
The Syrian government has been fighting ISIS after the group started to flood in the country and has been recieving help from Russia and Iran. The Syrian has said in an interview
Assad scoffed at US troops’ presence, saying “They didn’t succeed anywhere they sent troops, they only create a mess. They are very good in creating problems and destroying, but they are very bad in finding solutions.”
Assad also said that while “in theory” he shares the priorities of fighting terrorism with US President Donald Trump, they have had no formal contact yet.
