Michael Cohen Testifies Trump a ‘Racist’ and ‘Conman’ Before Congress, Full Testimony
After testifying in a closed-door hearing on Tuesday before the Senate Intelligence Committee, Michael Cohen testified Wednesday morning in a live televised hearing before the House Oversight Committee. Cohen will testify again on Thursday in another closed-door hearing before the House Intelligence Committee.
Wednesday morning starting at 10 AM eastern time Michael Cohen, President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, testified before the House Oversight Committee. His testimony contained multiple incendiary remarks and included calling Trump a conman, racist and cheat. Cohen also implicated Roger Stone in a phone call with Julian Assange of Wikileaks regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails, a conversation that Stone has said never existed.
Following Cohen’s testimony members of the committee were given an opportunity to question Cohen and not surprisingly, the line of questioning was divided along party lines. Republicans accused Cohen of being a vengeful employee attempting to take down his boss. Democrats accused Republicans of not wanting to know the truth and acting out of the same blind allegiance to Trump that Cohen did for ten years – tensions at times were heated between legislators of the two opposing parties.
Below you can read Cohen’s testimony in full. What may ultimately prove most crucial is what hard evidence Cohen can supply to the committee to back up his statements, as Cohen has already lied previously to Congress and his credibility as a witness is thus, marred.
