Operation Mockingbird: How the CIA Manipulated U.S. Media
Beginning in the 1950’s the CIA planted stories in mainstream media to influence public opinion.
After the Watergate scandal in the early 1970’s Congress launched a series of Congressional investigations looking into the CIA. Senator Frank Church lead the investigation and discovered that the CIA paid journalists and other media employees to submit articles favorable to the CIA’s agenda.
