Explosive devices have been discovered across the country today – most targeting people with affiliated with the Democratic Party.

Latest Update: Maxine Waters and Andrew Cuomo also targeted by pipe bomb type packages.

Two days after an explosive device was found at the home of billionaire philanthropist and Democratic party supporter George Soros, U.S. Secret Service said they discovered two explosive devices – one sent to former President Barack Obama and one to Hillary Clinton.

According to a statement released by the Secret Service, the packages were discovered during routine mail screening procedures and immediately identified as potentially explosive devices. The package to Hillary Clinton was intercepted late on October 23, 2018, and a second package was intercepted early in the morning on October 24, 2018, addressed to Barack Obama.

Neither package made it to its intended location and the intended recipients were never in danger.

The Secret Service said they have “initiated a full scope criminal investigation that will leverage all available federal, state, and local resources to determine the source of the packages and identify those responsible.”

CNN has also reported a device sent to their mailroom resembled a pipe bomb and was discovered as suspicious because mailroom screening devices found it contained wires. The Time Warner building in New York City where CNN’s New York offices are located was evacuated due to the suspicious package. Wolf Blitzer reported that the CNN package was specifically addressed to former CIA director John Brennan who is an MSNBC analyst, not a CNN analyst.

Another CNN report says that a suspicious package was sent to former Attorney General Eric Holder and had Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the return address. The package was sent to the wrong address so it was returned to Wasserman Schultz’s address. Wasserman Schultz is the former chair of the Democratic National Committee and current Florida representative in Congress. Her office was evacuated this morning.

Reports have continued to come out announcing more intercepted packages. Two more suspicious packages believed to be containing pipe bombs were addressed to Maxine Waters and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Both are Democrats, Waters is a California representative in Congress.

The package to Waters was intercepted in Maryland. Cuomo announced his office had received a suspicious package and that officials were dealing with it.
