President Trump has an Easter message for his enemies that sounds more like The Godfather than the president

President Donald Trump is not playing anymore games with Democrats, Dreamers, Congress or Mexico after he unleashed a tweetstorm on Easter Sunday that had ears ringing.

“Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws like Catch & Release. Getting more dangerous. “Caravans” coming. Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW. NO MORE DACA DEAL!” he tweeted on Sunday.

The ”nuclear option” would destroy the filibuster in the Senate and would mean that Republicans only need 51 votes to pass legislation. A dangerous move that would come back to bite them when Democrats have a majority in the Senate and a Democrat president.

But the filibuster has been used in recent times, by both parties, as a means to obstruct and there is a chance that a Democrat Senate would destroy it when it came into power and was blocked by Republicans, which means that now is the right time to do it.

It is also likely that the president’s “no DACA deal” decree is more of a negotiating position, as he had offered to provide a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million Dreamers. By saying he won’t give any DACA deal he could be needling Democrats to get them negotiate him back to that offer.

His next shot was at Mexico and the issue of illegal immigration.

“Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S. They laugh at our dumb immigration laws. They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA. NEED WALL!” he said.

This statement is assuredly designed to pressure Mexico into doing more to stop its citizens from crossing into the United States. If NAFTA was erased by President Trump it would cost Mexico billions of dollars and would injure its economy significantly more than paying for the wall, and for decades.

As the mainstream media is in panic mode because of the president’s statements, it is apparent to anyone who comprehends negotiating tactics that he is willing to make deals, but he will only do that from a position of strength.
