Kanye and Candace: The Redpilling of Black America and The Rise of Free Thinking

Kanye West On Red-Pill Rampage,” read the first half of ZeroHedge’s Monday headline on Kanye’s recent twitterstorm endorsing Candace Owens and referencing Scott Adams. The Left is melting down over this pop culture icon becoming, as the kids say, woke.

I used to think Kanye West was a blithering idiot, or as President Obama called him, “a jackass.” However, over the years I have realized his musical genius, pop culture relevance, and openness to new ideas and concepts. Despite his decision to marry Kim Kardashian, he is showing his intellectual side in sparking a dialogue on free thinking and being black in America. Though this might all be a big publicity stunt, Kanye, who met Donald Trump in 2016 after becoming president and touting his praises, appears to have taken the red pill.

On Saturday morning, West tweeted out: “I love the way Candace Owens thinks,” after Owens spoke at a Turning Point USA event at UCLA on Friday. This united the Left in its elevated level of outrage over Kanye daring to stray from their diseased groupthink. They cannot stand a pop culture icon endorsing someone they see as “alt-right.” Turning Point is “a youth organization that promotes the principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government.”

A cultural awakening and the golden age of free thinking

Owens is a black conservative activist and current communications director at Turning Points USA. She has attacked Black Lives Matter in the past for keeping African Americans stuck in the past and demanding a life of endless victimhood. Owens told a group of BLM protesters during Friday’s speech: “It’s embarrassing. You’re not living through anything right now. You’re overly privileged Americans.” She says the BLM does not care about black lives. In reality, they are perpetuating a constant victim mentality in the black community, which, hopefully, is finally starting to melt away.

The Left moved swift against both West and Owens both online and on Twitter.

Twitter painted Owens as a “far-right media personality” while spelling her name wrong. Owens replied, “Far right? Allow me to clarify: I believe the black community can do it without hand-outs. I believe the Democrats have strapped us to our past to prevent us from our futures. And I won’t stop fighting until all black Americans see that.” What a racist, right?

Jeff Bezos’ Washington Post attempted to frame the events through its leftist mainstream media lens:

“West’s politics have become increasingly right-leaning, attracting criticism from the left. And his embrace of Owens, who has aligned herself with Alex Jones and conservatism’s other fringe thinkers, does not appear to have been well received by politically engaged blacks.”

How dare this black woman be a free-thinking conservative who collaborates with other alternative news sites and organizations on the Right to try to empower African Americans by offering an empowering message of freedom from government dependence and perpetual victimhood?

In the face of the Left’s uproar, Kanye hits back by tweeting a video clip from conservative thinker and Dilbert creator Scott Adams, who clarified and objectively framed West’s recent endorsement of Owens.

“The story is that these two people that shouldn’t be in the same conversation – in seven words, Kanye just changed that. And he just freed a lot of people from a mental prison. Kanye, in seven words, unlocked a mental prison – and is bringing you to… the golden age.”

The golden age is upon us. People are learning to think for themselves. They are learning to question the spoonfed mainstream media narrative. They are realizing that they do not have to follow what the party elites and talking heads instruct them to do. In this new age, Americans are freeing themselves from the mental prison of the Democrat v. Republican battle that never ends well for the everyday taxpayer. There are other points of view out there. There are those that support the president from all walks of life. There is an unparalleled liberation in choosing for yourself what to believe and not falling prey to the ceaseless thought police.

“The establishment is worried. @kanyewest is free to think,” @thebradfordfile tweeted on Monday.

Infowars’ Paul Joseph Watson’s illuminating video below further breaks down the Kanye-Candace story and the breaking free of the thought police. “Racism is a dated concept. It’s not an actual thing that even means anything. It’s something that was used to hold people back in the past but now so many leaps and breaking of the rules that it’s played out like a style from the 1800s or something. The real true freedom isn’t in the words it’s in the opportunity,” Kanye stated in one interview Watson includes. We are far from a perfect country and we certainly have a troubled history. But that does not mean we have to live in the past and race-bait to win political points or frame issues in a white v. black battle.

The panic is palpable

Much of black America has yet to wake up, however. Most still buy into the narrative that Trump hates black people and spreads hate to anyone who is not white, with no evidence whatsoever to back up this outrageous assertion.

Kanye spoke recently with Ebro of the Hot 97 radio show. West spoke about how he wanted to have an open dialogue with society, speaking about his “love” for President Trump and clarifying that he aims to “deprogram people to have people think differently than we thought before.” Owens is one of those individuals breaking convention and thinking outside the box rather than conforming to stereotypes or cultural norms. Kanye praised Candace, stating, “she’s challenging conventional black thought.” We can no longer demonize others who think differently. We are all Americans and we all have a point of view. Just because someone disagrees with you on an issue does not mean they hate you or are trying to bring you down. They are simply seeing things from a different perspective and thinking about it differently. That’s not oppression, that’s not white privilege, that’s not hate speech. That is life.

African Americans remain a struggling segment of society. And despite decades of supporting the Democratic Party, a healthy majority still cling to the big government policies that have proven to do nothing for them. They believe outlandish claims that are told to them by their thought leaders and are accepted as gospel.

Hot 97’s Ebro said President Trump “Aligns himself with people who want to see the demise of black and brown people all the way to the womb.” What evidence is he using to support this claim? How has Trump said or hinted that he wants minorities to go away in America? He has denounced illegal immigration which is what helped propel him to the presidency. But don’t conflate that with him wanting to see the demise of African Americans and Hispanics. That’s just absurd.

African American writer and transgender rights activist Raquel Willis echoed the Left’s outrage on Kanye-Candace, attacking Owens for straying from the BLM line of destructive race-baiting and virtue signaling rhetoric, saying, “Candace Owens has proven to be anti-Black, anti-LGBTQ and fact-hating. (Honestly, there are so many more descriptors.) For Kanye to align himself with her is messy and dangerous.” What is so dangerous about thinking differently and being authentic? What is so messy about a black thinker believing in blacks people’s ability to think for themselves and do what is best for themselves by trying something different other than staying stuck in an infinite state of victimhood? What does this get them?

The panic is palpable as the high priests of pop culture are terrified of Kanye going rogue. The Left is slowly waking up to the fact that they are losing control of their monopoly on culture.

Candace Owens is not anti-black. She loves America and the black community and is trying to wake up a sleeping generation of minorities to free their minds. She actually loves facts and uses them to support her, as liberals would declare, “dangerous and controversial stances.”

In a Monday afternoon tweet, Owens encouraged blacks to free themselves in the face of relentless attack from the Left: “The masters control everything. Including who blacks are even allowed to LIKE. Kanye tweeted SEVEN WORDS. SEVEN WORDS—And they jumped up and told blacks that they must immediately revolt. How many of you jumped up and did that? How many of you have your minds enslaved?”

A victor mentality

Candace also tweeted out on Monday: “All I said was that I wanted black people to embrace a victor mentality and now the Left is out to assassinate my character. THE LEFT NEEDS PEOPLE TO NEED THEM. Unfortunately, I do not want or need them.” This frightens the establishment. This makes them quiver in their well-polished boots and high heels. This keeps them up at night. We must excise from our minds this victim mentality. It is useless. Sure, there are victims out there. But it’s no longer a racist society that is oppressing them. It is an unaccountable and ineffective democracy that divides the populace into groups to keep the political establishment in power. We are no longer living in an age of rampant racism. It still does exist. Though are certainly not a post-racial society or a cohesive melting pot of different ethnicities, anyone in America can still obtain the American Dream if they have the willingness to do whatever is best for themselves and their families in order to free themselves from being enslaved by the masters of the media and political establishment.

On a Sunday Fox & Friends interview Sunday, Owens laid it out:

“The truth is that the Left wants to strap black people to this idea that they are victims … they do not want black people focused on their futures they want black people focused on their past, they like black people to be government dependent, they don’t like to see black people that are free thinkers and are independent, and I think that’s what Kanye West and myself represents … and that makes them very nervous.”

The BLM / cultural appropriation / “love trumps hate” crowd shout down this kind of thinking that Owens proposes. At the UCLA Turning Point speech on Friday that was interrupted by BLM protesters, Owens commented on this pivotal point in time in American society right now, “what is happening right now in the black community … there’s an ideological civil war happening. Black people that are focused on their past and shouting about slavery and black people that are focused on their futures. That’s what it really comes down to. I can guarantee you what you’re seeing happening is victim mentality versus victor mentality.” Victory is within reach if one lives in the present to better their future instead of complaining about the past and blaming it for their present problems.

“I don’t know why people like feeling oppressed it’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard,” Owens added.

Brian Feldman attempts to explain the Kanye-Candace conundrum for the Left in nymag.com. He references Adams’s argument calling Kanye’s mere acknowledgment of Owens, a merging between celebrity and online conservative activism, a watershed moment in American political culture. In turn, people are actually developing a different worldview and mindset. Kanye has been redpilled by YouTube personalities and non-status quo thinkers. Is this dangerous? Is this all a game? Or are we witnessing a monumental shift in American culture?

Feldman believes West’s recent postings on Twitter promote “policies that exacerbate racism, discrimination, and economic inequality.” He gives no evidence for this assertion. Whoever screams loudest and brings up racism wins the argument. But the Left is losing and they are drenched in sweat over Kanye’s awakening.

Alternative news media is a rising form for obtaining objective information in today’s internet and social media age. Donald Trump bypassed the dying mainstream media by speaking directly to voters through Twitter and social media, plugging into the direct pulse of the nation that eventually catapulted him to the White House.

Kanye West’s endorsement of Candace Owens is huuuuuuge, as the president would say. A man with the following of Kanye wields vast influence over a great many people. African Americans are waking up to the fact that they have been conned by the Democratic Party establishment. They are looking for something that will actually help better their lives. They are learning to think for themselves. The Left cannot have this.

In conclusion, it is apparent that the Left is desperate and losing the war of ideas in the aftermath of their shocking 2016 defeat that attempted to amplify group identity politics and political correctness over anything else. Black America is waking up and opening their minds to other views outside of the BLM-Democrat party line.

What a time to be alive!

“Free Thinking” doesn’t mean you have correct ideas. Also, there isn’t much intellectual coming out of his mouth when it comes to Donald Trump.

You are correct in stating that ” “Free thinking” doesn’t mean you have correct ideas.” But in order to determine that, one has to look at the ideas for themselves and judge them honestly. Not just the “other person’s ideas” but the ones on the side you occupy. Here is link to an excellent “free thinker”. Probably the best of our time. Don’t see him in the mainstream much, but excellent none the less.

I don’t think the majority of people value Kanye West’s political “insights,” and any political aspirations deserve to be panned as well.
